Ouch - what happened here? Ecco the Dolphin, suddenly transformed into a kid-friendly educational game?In this game, you play as Ecco Jr., a younger version of Ecco, or one of his two friends (Tara the baby orca or Kitnee the baby Atlantic dolphin). There..

Haha, wow, I played through and completed this in a night on the Mega Drive Collection. I'm not quite sure what drove me to do it until the end!

Nice simple fun I guess, but not the sort of thing you'd want to pay much for on its own.

I never played this game, but I'm guessing this will get 2 stars.

My 5 yr. old played this on the Sega Genesis Collection and he liked it. I think the fact that they named it Jr. was to intone that it was a young childs game. Not meant to be played by anyone over 5.

The lackluster titles released this week would have provided NEO GEO with an opportunity to release a GOOD game. I believe the aforementioned system is up to a whopping four games; certainly they have a much wider selection of titles than they let on.

^ Maybe it mentions how dolphins are like the rapists of the sea.

Anyone that is owner of a Sega Classic's Collection know that this game is WAY too easy...is entertaining for kids, unlike a "certain" NES game that teaches math. Simple objectives and no complicated stuff.

I thought this was a lot of fun as a kid. One star is a bit harsh in my opinion.

Maybe it got a T rating because it has a secret ending where Ecco and his buddies get taken to the tuna factory lol. =P

I also think this game deserves more than 1 star. My daughter loved this game when she was 6 years old and it was one of the few games that she could actually finish without my help.

A piece of crap game, a mockery to a good Sega series, and you can get it elsewhere for cheaper. Just send your money in an envelope to Sega so you can give it away to them without having to have this on your list of Wii Shop purchases.

For everyone wondering of the T Rating the video had:

Look at the ending. It shows that the rating applies to the whole collection, so the rating may be applying to the truly violent games in the collection. (And besides, Sega would have known better than to put violence in a kiddie game.)

For everybody who hates this game:

Like I said, this is a KIDDIE game. It is aimed at smaller children who are not that experienced with gaming. (You could go through a level in under a minute due to your skill, 4-year-olds are not as fortunate.) The difficulty is made with the little ones in mind. (As psyduck-san said, Ecco Jr. was the 1st game psyduck's 6-year-old daughter could beat by herself.) Please consider this before you insult this game.

And no, I never played it, yet I could assume that it may be too easy for me (even though I get a knack for enjoying every game I ever played).

P.S. I wonder if Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa would be a better choice? Then again, it may not be, considering the difference in difficulty.

I have the collection, and the blood applies to Altered Beast and Shinobi 3, and the violence came from Virtua Fighter. It's a good collection, really. Saves you a lot of Wii Points if you buy it instead of buying each game individually.

Anyway, about Ecco Jr. As many other people said, this is the perfect game for younger children, as you can just freely explore the level without having to worry about air, or getting attacked. I'll even go out to admit I enjoyed exploring the levels to take a break from the intense difficulty of Ecco the Dolphin (and if you go into the parents menu, there is an exploration mode which lets you explore the levels freely). Not worth $8, but still, 2/10 is a little harsh.
