Take a deep breath and prepare for a puzzle game set in the underwater kingdom of Clu Clu Land. The greedy Sea Urchins have stolen all of Clu Clu Land’s gold bars and buried them in a series of mazes. As Bubbles, a brave bubble fish, you’ll set out to uncover all of the gold bars in each maze. But you’ll have to be careful: Sea Urchins will relentlessly pursue Bubbles, and there are also dangerous black holes that must be avoided.
Bubbles isn’t defenseless, though, as she has the ability to stun Sea Urchins with sound waves and quickly change direction using posts scattered throughout the stages. With 20 stages to complete and increasingly complex conditions (like having to pass over the gold bars twice to uncover them), you might just want to bring along a friend for help.

I always really liked Clu Clu Land on Animal Crossing, I'd personally give it a high 3/5. Sure it's a bit...odd, but it's quite fun and it's pretty different to anything else you can play.

The controls aren't frustrating at all. I played this first when i was only 12 years old and i picked up the gameplay in a matter of minutes. This game's actually pretty fun with 2 players, but there are much better NES titles out there and the remake of Clu Clu Land on NES which was Japanese-only was much nicer.

This game has to be better using a classic controller compared to using the Cube controller on Animal Crossing. Yes it is better with 2 players. Clu Clu land D is slightly less frustrating

Virtual Console Reviews was right, my first awareness of Clu Clu Land was that statue of Bubbles in Super Smash Bros. Melee. I like Clu Clu Land. I'm giving it a three out of five as well.

Stay away from Clu Clu land, it gets boring after just a few minutes of play. Clu Clu land certainly hasn´t aged well.

@Mr. M. Same here. There were dozens of characters I didn't even know existed until I saw them as trophies in Melee.
Two stars? Blasphemy! I love this game on e-reader! Yes, this game can be frustrating at times (especially in later levels where Bubbles bounces around at the speed of a 3-year old that just drank a 6-pack of Red Bull), but it's still good fun. A decent buy, but there are better ways to spend $5. 3/5
btw, how is Clu Clu Land D different from the original? I could never find it in Animal Crossing. Hopefully we'll see it on VC eventually.

Clu Clu Land drives me nuts. Maybe I just suck at it, but I really don't have much fun playing this game. I can see the appeal of it, but it's not on my list of games I like playing. Besides, I wouldn't pay $5 for it even if I did enjoy it considering I have it on Animal Crossing and e-Reader.
@Mr. Cheez - Clu Clu Land D I have on Animal Crossing as well, and it isn't really different at all as far as I can tell. They appear to be pretty much the same game. But, like I said, I suck at Clu Clu Land and don't like it much so I haven't spent all that much time with Clu Clu Land D either. Just use an AC code generator and find out yourself for the best results

If you enjoy old school arcade type games like Pac-man, Dig Dug, and Mr. Do, you may enjoy Clu Clu Land. But overall I would wait for the inevitable release of Ms. Pac-Man. By the way I love the remixed Clu Clu land music in SSMB Brawl

I still really liked this game in Animal Crossing. The controls are a bit tough but you get used to them and discover a pretty challenging game. I would certainly recommend the 2-player mode.

when i had that dunnohowmuch in 1, i played this game, and liked it, gave it 4/5, since it was a time i was happy with anything i got
this game gave me lot of fun back then, so i havent got anything bad to say about it, i enjoyed those times
i see its not in europe, guess its not popular enough, maybe i'd buy it if it would be in europe, this game has no story or real challenge if you know it well, but still from good old times

50 points would be a more reasonable sum. Not a bad game, but you could play something similar or better for free on the internet or on your cellphone.
