The Lost Levels become lost once more!
Sunday was the last day of September. As such, the Hanabi Festival has now come to an end, and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels has been removed from the Wii Shop. If you didn't download it, you might've missed it forever! Nintendo stated that it was a "collectors' item", which implies that it might not return for a second chance. Still, anything's possible, so if you did miss it, just hope for the best!
To clear up the confusion which seemed to exist - No, the other Hanabi Festival games are not gone. The Lost Levels is the only game that was available for a limited time. This means you can still download Mario's Super Picross, Ninja JaJaMaru-kun, Ninja Gaiden, Gradius III and Sin and Punishment.
If you've downloaded The Lost Levels, naturally, you get to keep it. If you delete it, you can still redownload it in the Shop - The game page can not, however, be found in the normal lists - You must access it from your "Games You've Downloaded" list.

Seems like a MUST GET RIGHT AWAY title for the USA then. I'll get it right away once the Hanabi Festival hits my country. Hopefully we'll have a bit of a variety against the EU/AU Festival though.
As in, replace Sin and Punishment with something like Custom Robo 64 or Doshin the Giant, Mario's Super Picross with Mario and Wario etc.

Don't replace Sin & Punishment, Mario's Super Picross and Ninja Jajamaru-kun is ok to replace though.

Mario and Wario would have to use the Wii remote as a mouse, otherwise it couldn't be played.
And why replace Sin and Punishment when you can just replace the games that were released in America (Gradius 3, Ninja Gaiden)

Are you kidding me? From what I have heard Sin and Punishment is one of the bet 64 games that didn't come out in the USA. You do not want to miss it. I can't wait to play it and would be disappointed if they took it out.

Given that Mario's Super Picross is one of the best versions of an awesomely addictive puzzle game, I most certain don't want to see this 'replaced' at all for the US market. More people needs to get into this series.

I can think of at least one counterexample to the "Europe gets screwed" concept.
One day at a retail shop two years ago, I picked up a GameCube copy of "Gottlieb Pinball Hall of Fame" for US $19.99.
I loved it!
Last year, two weeks after Wii launch, buglers broke into my house and stole my entire GameCube collection. I wanted my Pinball Game back.
Then I get a Wii.
In PAL regions, "Gottlieb Pinball Classics" was a launch title.
Nine months later, I learn that they are developing a "Williams Pinball Collection" for both territories.
Still no Gottlieb Pinball for Wii. I really miss the 1981 classic "Black Hole"
I admit defeat and purchase the inferior GameCube version "used" on Amazon Marketplace. Europe has about a half dozen or so pinball tables on their version of the game that I will never get to play.
To make a long story short, I feel for you guys, because it happened to me too, right here in the US.
P.S. - Sorry also about the "slowdown" and the "black bar" problem with some of your classic VC titles. NoE should have known better, and release an update to fix that.
