It is once again the final Friday of the month, and that means Nintendo has revealed their plans for Japan's Virtual Console this coming month. It looked like there were no more games remaining for the final update this month (Next week), but Konami has generously provided two more MSX games just for it. Next month sees two Neo Geo and Super Famicom games, in addition to one more arcade title.
Next week's update will have these two MSX titles:
- Gofer no Yabou Episode II (Not to be confused with Gradius II: Gofer no Yabou, this is a totally different Gradius game which so far hasn't been released on any other system.)
- Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (The second game in the series. Unlike the first, it was not released in Europe, although it was translated a few years ago and included in a rerelease of Metal Gear Solid 3, as well as being released for mobile phones.)
April's games are as follows:
Super Famicom:
- Darius Twin (A rather enjoyable shoot 'em up, and one of the few games in the series that was released outside Japan. Will we see it, we wonder?)
- Pilotwings (The SNES flight game. Already released elsewhere last year!)
Neo Geo:
- Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory (The last of the original Fatal Fury games, it adds a few more new characters and stages.)
- Waku Waku 7 (Another wacky fighting game, parodying various games in the genre by other developers. It is quite popular in the west, but we only got the arcade version, so if you want to see it, hope for an import release!)
Virtual Console Arcade:
- Mr. Do! (A rather strange arcade game, in which you play as a clown, trying to dig around a screen full of soil in order to collect all the fruit. It could very well be released elsewhere, but publisher Hamster doesn't seem interested in releasing any of their arcade games in the west yet!)
All around, some very good picks. How long will it take for the rest of the world to get any of them?

Wow! This is an incredibly impressive list of games, to all be released within a short period.
There is going to be a lot of happy gamers, who own a Japanese Wii, this late March/April.
There will also be lots of holes in their pockets, too. In a good way.
Hmm... I'm not too impressed with these games (only because I know little about most of them).

Fatal Fury 3 and Waku Waku 7 are must buy for me and here I am still enjoying Fatal Fury Special and The King of Fighters 94. We really more Neo Geo games like Fatal Fury 3, Waku Waku 7, and The King of Fighters 95.
Wasn't WW7 one of the bigger Neo Geo games (file size wise)? It was one of it's later releases. Man, I love how the fighters are being supported, especially Fatal Fury. Hopefully we can get other genres rolling also (this is coming from a huge fighter fan lol). Neo Geo has so much awesome stuff.
Waku Waku 7 was a fun game I'd love to play legally again. I'd rather have it on another SNK Classics Vol though where I can get infinite credits and configure the buttons to my choosing.
FF3 is one step away from Real Bout Fatal Fury. Came out a year before. Starting to look like we are getting to bigger sized neo geo games. I hope this neo-geo goodness continues.

I would download Waku Waku 7 in an instant except 50HZ Neo Geo games are a joke, especially if they're imports (Ironclad - I'm glaring at you). As for Fatal Fury - I'll stick to Garou: Mark of the Wolves on my Dreamcast, its the best one.

oh man, Waku Waku 7!?! AWESOME. I remember reading about that on hardcore gaming 101 - it sounds interesting. For a ten spot or less, I'd download it. C'mon import channel! In fact, I'm sure we'll get it - Gaijinworks/Sunsoft has shown a lot of interest in the VC. I was hoping we might see Ufouria or Mr.Gimmick soon, but hey - if Waku Waku is up there already to go, then bring it on!

Well, you could continue to know very little about them or you could read up on them and find out why they are impressing other people. I suggest the latter option. You're missing out otherwise. Personally, I'll be downloading Waku Waku 7 immediately and am strongly tempted by Fatal Fury 3.
@Bass I read that link that outrun2sp posted, looks like a good/amusing fighter. I'd be happy to play it if it gets released in NA.
Mr. Do is very similar to Dig Dug, but without pumping enemies with air and having buried apples instead of rocks to drop on their heads. It's loads of fun and has great music. Fun!
|sf>I agree with Sean & ReZon. I'd buy a VC Mr. Do regardless of the version offered. There were so many fun, classic arcade games in the early 80s. The only trouble is that Sega has been one of the few supporters of most VC arcade titles in locations outside of Japan.
@SafariSuz: Yes, but Sunsoft - with the help of Gaijinsoft - is pretty keen on getting back into the western gaming market. That's why they've given us Blaster Master AND Blaster Master Overdrive nearly immediately thereafter. They're also actively looking in bringing over Ufouria and Mr.Gimmick as imports if 1up's podcasts are to be believed. If they're seeing some success and maintain this level of ambition, I'll bet they're bring us Waku Waku 7 eventually:)

Why hope for an import? Why not just hope that the Arcade version gets released on the VCA? The VCA is much superior to the NEO GEO VC.
