Drop Off (TG-16)

Game Profile

Brave five rounds of haunting, nightmarish dreams in this take on the classic arcade puzzler. To save his dearly beloved from the malicious demon that controls her dreams and holds her captive, our brave hero plunges himself into the nightmare to vanquish this evil foe.

Deftly use the arrow items and control the angle of the ball to shatter the blocks that descend from the top of the screen. Set your sights on the joints holding the blocks together and knock off multiple blocks in one exhilarating blow. As you drop more and more blocks, their shapes will change, allowing you to earn bonus points. You must use your concentration and reflexes to defeat the demon and save your beloved.

Brave five rounds of haunting, nightmarish dreams in this take on the classic arcade puzzler.

Drop Off is a paddle and ball game like Atari’s classic, Breakout. There is nothing bad about making a game like Breakout, games like Arkanoid did an excellent job of just that. The innovations in that game made for an addictive game experience. It’s..

I really liked this. It is quite different from any ball and paddle game I have ever played before. I played the hell out of this game on my Turbo Express and I am looking forward to finally playing it on a big screen. This (along with Devil's Crush) is right at the top of my VC want list and I will download both the day they are released!

It has rather nice music though, going by that video!

IMO, the WORST Breakout style game has to be Alleyway for the original GB. Utterly devoid of any interesting gameplay elements or level design. Drop Off looks interesting, but it hasn't surfaced on Hudson's VC list for Europe yet.

Doesn't look TOO bad, although I won't be buying it.

Good call on the music. That's where it's from alright. I couldn't get a track off of the game so I just "borrowed" on. It was a last resort, but it was that or nothing. : )

So according to the video, this is the first VC game to actually have testicles in it?

This may be due to nostalgy, but I really like that game. The music is really simple and repetitive, but pretty good. The story is also quite interresting for a paddle game. If you are into this kind of game or feel intrigued by it, you should give it a try; you may like it.

For anyone wondering about the Majical Drop music you only have to look as far as the developer to get that...

Data East made both games. Looks like they recycled the only good thing this game had going for it :P

This game reminded me of a Breakout style game on the NES called "Arkanoid".

Chris made a good point, the lion at the end of the clip had big, old man balls O.o. It`s disgustingly funny....

It's no lion...it's a tanooki. A Japanese Racoon creature.
