Hi Nintendo Life,

I am located in Indonesia and am trying to install the app "Nintendo Switch Parental Control" to my phone but Playstore says "This app isn't available on Google Play in your region". This is very disturbing as I can not do the parental contral on my children's Switch.
I have tried to use a VPN and change the location Europe but its still the same...

Thanks for your advice.

This isn't an official Nintendo support forum, but the best advice I can give you is to try other locations with the VPN. If you've done that already, I don't know what to do in that case.

I'm just a guy who loves gaming and animation. I'm Gaming and Animation Adventure 2!

@Julieindonesia You can still set up parental controls on the Switch console without the app. Although, I understand why you'd want to manage controls from your phone. And I don't know if the app allows you more control options, it might. One possible workaround solution; If you have a tablet, you can try putting the app on a tablet. Although, I won't be surprised if you run into the same regional restriction problem you experienced with your phone.

Just in case this can help with setting up parental controls on the console (without the app):
Nintendo Support Parental Controls frequently asked questions page for North America. https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a...
While this page isn't for your region, a lot of support pages are exactly the same across different regions. So, it might still be helpful.

You could also try creating a new Google account tied to a region where the app is available (you may need to use a VPN to do that), sign thay account into the Google Play store and use it to download the app. You can then switch back to your normal account.

My main Google account is from the UK but I live in Germany right now, so I also have a German account for the occasional time when I need to download an app that's not available in the UK store.
